Less than one year after the Real Housewives of New York City alum appeared on the late-night talk show, and amid her legal battle against Bravo and its parent company, NBCUniversal, Bethenny, 52, slammed the premise as “so gross.”
After Bethenny and her lawyers accused the networks of using alcohol to manipulate their talent, and suggested they condoned the “distribution of revenge porn,” Bethenny confirmed that her former friendship with Andy was no more.
“I can tell you with great certainty that everyone at Bravo likely despises me, including Andy Cohen, because it’s very personal and because they have to protect the realm,” Bethenny said during a recent episode of Team Coco’s Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast.
She then hired attorneys to pursue action against NBCUniversal. And, on September 22, the media giant announced changes to their workplace guidelines.
“The change is happening… the reality reckoning is here,” Bethenny wrote in response to the new, stronger guidelines, also noting that the “conversation is far from over.”
As for Bethenny’s latest claims, she said on her podcast last week that Andy is “always protected” on WWHL while his guests get “f*cking skinned alive.”
“We’re out there, being thrown like pieces of meat, just to get ripped apart by [the press],” Bethenny shared with guest Nene Leakes, formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, on the September 28 episode of Just B With Bethenny Frankel. “It all just seems so gross.”
According to Bethenny, appearing on WWHL is like getting “Tobasco sauce poured over” one’s “naked” body.
Although Andy didn’t ask Bethenny that exact question during her December 2022 appearance on WWHL, she insisted the questions are “that bad.”
“[He’ll ask stuff like], ‘Who’s the worst mother?’ Questions that are so problematic,” she stated.
“All these things that somehow he’s always protected, and we’re always f–king skinned alive with Tabasco sauce all over us, naked,” Bethenny added. “… We’re out there, and we get thrown like pieces of meat to just get ripped apart by that vehicle that we kiss the a** to get on. … And we all play the go**amn f–king game … because we’re using him like he’s using us, because we want to promote our s–t. … But it all just seems so gross.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
